The Challenge

Featured image of rotary drum dryer and calcination process line in Verona Italy
The customer needed a reliable drying and calcination process line for wet mineral and building material processing. The main challenge was to reduce floor space, civil construction investment, power consumption, material blockage, uneven feeding, and dust load while keeping the drying process stable. Wet materials required a rotary drying system with strong adaptability to moisture and stickiness, smooth cylinder operation, efficient heat transfer, and controllable final moisture. The customer also needed a compact production line that could support continuous feeding, smooth discharge, cleaner operation, and long-term industrial production.
  • 1.9–76.0 t/h drying capacity range
  • Rotary drum dryer production line
  • 60% lower power consumption
  • Compact, stable, and efficient operation

Our Solution

Zhenggang Machinery configured a rotary drum dryer production line using a rotary drum dryer, belt conveyor, bucket elevator, feeding hopper, feeding pipe, discharge conveyor, and dust collection system. Wet materials are conveyed to the dryer hopper by belt conveyor or bucket elevator, then enter the rotary drum dryer through the feeding pipe. Inside the slightly inclined rotating cylinder, the wet material contacts hot air or flue gas to complete drying. The improved feeding and discharge structure helps reduce blockage, uneven feeding, material return, and dust collection pressure while improving drying efficiency and operation stability.

Implementation Timeline

1

Site Assessment

2 weeks

Wet material properties, moisture content, site layout, and capacity requirement evaluation

2

Equipment Design

3 weeks

Rotary drum dryer, conveying, feeding, discharge, and dust collection system design

3

Installation

5 weeks

Dryer cylinder, conveyor, bucket elevator, feeding system, and dust collector installation

4

Training

1 week

Operator training for dryer control, final moisture adjustment, dust system, and maintenance

The project was implemented through material analysis, site layout planning, equipment configuration, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and operator training. Zhenggang Machinery designed the drying and calcination process line according to the customer’s material moisture, capacity requirement, and final moisture target. This structured implementation helped the customer achieve stable feeding, efficient drying, reliable discharge, and cleaner production.

The Results

After installation and commissioning, the rotary drum dryer process line provided stable drying performance with lower energy consumption, compact layout, and reliable operation. The system helped reduce floor space, civil construction investment, and power consumption while improving heat transfer, material adaptability, and drying efficiency. The improved feeding and discharge structure reduced blockage, uneven feeding, and material return. The dust collection system also helped capture particles from exhaust gas and supported cleaner industrial production.
