The Challenge

The customer needed a complete active lime production line capable of processing limestone efficiently and producing high-quality lime at stable industrial capacity. The main challenge was to design a mature and reliable lime rotary kiln process that could make full use of local limestone resources, control raw material particle size, improve preheating efficiency, and maintain continuous calcination performance. The project also required smooth material conveying, accurate screening of limestone, stable cooling after kiln discharge, and proper classified storage of finished lime to support long-term production.

Our Solution

Zhenggang Machinery designed a complete 600 T/D active lime rotary kiln production line based on the customer’s limestone characteristics and production requirements. The process starts with 20–40mm limestone feeding, followed by belt conveying, screening, raw material storage, preheating, pre-decomposition, rotary kiln calcination, cooling, bucket elevator conveying, and finished product classification. The preheater uses high-temperature flue gas from the rotary kiln to heat limestone to 600–800°C before calcination, improving thermal efficiency and supporting stable active lime production.

The project followed a structured implementation plan covering limestone resource assessment, technical process comparison, equipment configuration, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and operator training. Zhenggang Machinery’s technical team focused on building a stable 600 T/D lime rotary kiln production line that could support efficient limestone calcination, smooth material flow, and long-term active lime production.

The Results

After commissioning, the active lime rotary kiln production line achieved stable 600 T/D production performance and supported the customer’s annual output target of approximately 200,000 tons. The optimized process improved limestone preheating, calcination stability, cooling efficiency, and finished lime classification. By integrating feeding, screening, rotary kiln calcination, cooling, bucket elevator conveying, and silo storage, the project helped the customer achieve reliable continuous production and better active lime product consistency.
